The shoots > Driven redlegged partridge
Partridge shooting in Andalucia (the southern part of Spain) has a magic all of its own. The landscape here isn't just beautiful - it allows us to offer a wide variety of batidas (drives) with low birds, high birds and a number of extremely challenging snap-shooting drives, which gives the gun a different kind of shot at every partridge on every batida. It truly is one of the greatest tests any hunter can face.
You may have shot partridge before. But you've probably never encountered anything like our 'Spanish grouse'. They may be the traditional red-legged breed. But their speed flight and speed here can be exceptional, especially once the Andalusian wind gets up behind them. You can truly expect a challenge above and beyond the usual at Soto Real.
Nobody knows the land better than our secretarios. They're at your side throughout the day to make sure every moment is one to remember. From setting up the screens to loading the guns, your every need is taken care of before you think of it.
After every drive you'll enjoy the spectacle of the secretarios working with their dogs to pick up the birds. As the majestic horsemen with their traditional hats and uniforms perform their duties, it's time to compare how you and your fellow guns did over cocktails. Lunch is served in carefully chosen spots around the estate, to give you a number of breathtaking views while you enjoy our chef's fine cuisine.
A regular line of eight guns will bag an average of 400 birds during their 4-drive shoot. Experts might double that score. Our drive partridge season runs from October till March.
